"The Big Sort"

There is a new book out called "The Big Sort: Why the Clustering of Like-Minded America is Tearing Us Apart" that hits on alot of stuff I've observed. Americans of all political stripes are moving to where everybody agrees with them for the most part, an environment that stumps intellectual growth by making people less able to defend their viewpoints. From interviews I've heard, the author takes a look at conservatives in Austin, liberals in the rural Midwest and others who were forced to shut up because of the mob mentality of their towns. According to his research, people in America are less likely than in any other country in the industrialized world to encounter someone they disagree with. That's an awful development for America.

Check it out.
